When releasing an album and establishing an artist persona you need to do some marketing. Social media, website and so on. There are a lot of things to do. Many many things. So many things.
And so, for the past two days I’ve done little more than set up this website, set up a Facebook page, set up a Twitter account, set up an Instagram account, set up a Patreon account and start to produce some stuff to go into them all. I also set up some stuff with Google Analytics and Google Business. When I really should have been making music. And going to bed in time.
But hey, at least I haven’t been sitting all day reading articles and watching videos about which distributor to use. Which is not very easy to decide. But more on that at a later time.
Instead I have been spending this night trying to get WordPress to display things the way I want it. It’s not easy. Or, maybe it is. All you have to do is spend a lot of money on plugins. Plugins that do stuff I can do by hand through editing. Which will take time. Time that might be better spent actually making music.
So yeah, just a little ranting about how much work I have to put into making a website. Which is a problem since I’m a webdesigner and like doing it. Which steals time from what I should be focusing on. Music. Or maybe marketing. Because marketing matters. But music matters more. So music.
But first I sleep.
